Nineteen Twenty-One (1921) is a venture fund in Vienna focused on type 1 diabetes and related cardiovascular, renal, neurodegenerative and metabolic disease. It was founded by Fredrik Debong, co-founder of mySugr, hi.health and Pioneers. It invests from first money in up to select Series A rounds, globally, with most of its capital going to the EU. It is an EuVECA-registered fund and works with a network of clinicians, researchers, patients and investors. The name refers to 1921, the year insulin was discovered.
