ANOBAKA is an independent venture capital firm in Tokyo that focuses on seed-stage startups. It began in 2015 as KVP (KLab Venture Partners), the venture arm of KLab, and became independent through a management buyout in December 2020. It invests across internet businesses without a sector limit, with checks of ¥10M to ¥50M from its main fund. It also runs a generative AI fund, launched in April 2023 with CARTA HOLDINGS as anchor investor, which invests ¥10M to ¥30M per company.
