Coral Capital is a Tokyo venture capital firm led by founding partners James Riney and Yohei Sawayama. The team launched its first fund in 2016 as 500 Startups Japan and took the Coral Capital name in 2019. It invests from seed to Series D with checks of ¥50 million to ¥3 billion, mainly in Japanese startups. It calls itself the Ecosystem VC and also runs a talent database, a career fair and a coworking space for its portfolio companies.
