MIT Corporate Relations is an office of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) that links industry with the Institute. It runs two integrated programs: the Industrial Liaison Program (ILP), a membership program for large companies, and MIT Startup Exchange, which connects MIT-connected startups with those companies. MIT founded the ILP in 1948 and describes it as the first university program to give industry access to faculty and research across the whole institute.

  • Showcases have been held in Silicon Valley, London, Tokyo and other innovation hubs
  • Events feature Lightning Talks where 8-12 startup founders pitch

Customers

ILP members are large companies from around the world. A 2023 ILP article gives the member mix as about 32 percent from the US and Canada, 23 percent from Japan and South Korea, 22 percent from Europe and 13 percent from Greater China and Southeast Asia.
