About

Pina Hirano (Yoichiro Hirano) is a software entrepreneur and listed-company chief executive serving as President & CEO at Asteria Corporation, the Tokyo software company he co-founded in 1998 as Infoteria Corporation and took public on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers market in 2007. He began as a software engineer at a software development venture, where he developed a best-selling Japanese word processor of the 8-bit era, and from 1987 to 1998 held product marketing and strategic planning roles at Lotus Development Corporation. He is also an advisor to Pegasus Tech Ventures, CEO of the Blockchain Collaborative Consortium, and an adjunct professor at Kyoto University's Graduate School of Management. Pina brings a founder-operator perspective on building software products, product marketing and strategy, taking a startup to a public listing, and enterprise adoption of new technology such as blockchain. The role provides direct exposure to how a founder-led software company grows from an early venture into a listed business. Pina is particularly relevant to conversations around building and scaling software companies in Japan, the path from startup to IPO, product strategy, and blockchain adoption in the enterprise.
