Ryan Ahamer is an education technology founder and language coach serving as Founder at LokaLingo, a platform that gives language educators AI-powered teaching tools. He has been teaching and coaching in Japan since 2002, starting at the English conversation school NOVA before opening his own school in 2008, which he continues to run as Accent Language. He is also an ICF-certified coach and a certified neurolanguage coach, working with multinational and Japanese companies on business English, leadership and cross-cultural communication. LokaLingo grew out of software developed and used at Accent Language since 2014. Ryan brings an educator-founder perspective on language learning, coaching, building software for teachers and running an independent education business. The work gives him direct exposure to how educators price their services, keep learners engaged and adopt AI tools in everyday teaching. Ryan is particularly relevant to conversations around EdTech product development, AI in language education, cross-cultural communication in Japan and building a service business as an independent educator.
