About

Fujiyo Ishiguro is a business leader and company director serving as Chair of Japan at the World Economic Forum. She is also an external director of Mitsui & Co. and Sega Sammy Holdings. She started in overseas sales and marketing at Brother Industries and then worked on new business development at Swarovski Japan. She later founded a high-tech consulting firm in Silicon Valley that built partnerships between U.S. startups and large Japanese companies. She became President and CEO of Netyear Group in 2000, moved its headquarters to Japan after a management buyout, and led it to a listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers market in 2008. She holds an economics degree from Nagoya University and an MBA from Stanford University. Fujiyo brings a founder and board-director perspective on cross-border business, U.S.-Japan partnerships, digital marketing, and corporate governance. Her work gives her direct exposure to how large Japanese companies, startups, and public institutions work together. Fujiyo is particularly relevant to conversations around entering the Japanese market, partnering with large corporations, taking a company from startup to public listing, and board-level decision-making.
