Tadashi Takaoka is an innovation and entrepreneurship specialist in Chile who works as a board member, professor and consultant. He joined the board of Metro S.A. in April 2022 and was still described as a director in late 2025; a new Metro board was named in April 2026. His 2024 CV also lists board seats at Gatblac, Amffal and Econovet, and teaching posts at Instituto de Directores de Chile and Universidad de Chile. Earlier he was general manager of Socialab (2020 to 2023), joined Corfo in 2015 and was its head of entrepreneurship from 2017 to 2019, ran the accelerator Magical Startups and Club de Innovación, and founded the startup Supermanket. Tadashi brings an operator and public-sector perspective on startup support programs, corporate innovation, business models and board-level strategy. His work has given him direct exposure to how public agencies select and fund startups, how accelerators work with founders, and how established organisations adopt innovation. Tadashi is particularly relevant to conversations around innovation strategy, public funding for startups, accelerator design and the role of boards in innovation.
