About

Yasuchika Wakayama is an incubator founder and early-stage investor serving as Representative Director and CEO at Breakpoint Co., Ltd., a Tokyo incubator he founded in March 2004. He began in non-ferrous metal export trading and new business development at the trading company Okura Shoji, then headed the IPO preparation office at Idea International. From 2015 he ran the Tokyo XR Startups incubation program, and in 2021 he set up the venture fund XVC and its X-DOJO accelerator. He is a part-time lecturer at Keio University's Graduate School of Business Administration and teaches venture management and venture capital and finance at Globis. Yasuchika brings an incubator and seed-investor perspective on early-stage company building, capital policy, fundraising and IPO preparation. The work provides direct exposure to how startups develop from the pre-seed stage, how deep tech teams move toward commercialization, and how investors assess young companies. Yasuchika is particularly relevant to conversations around seed fundraising, capital policy, incubation and accelerator programs, deep tech and XR startups, and preparing a company for IPO.
