Nicholas, the founder of Purcell, recieved and early diagnosis of Atrial Fibrillation at the age of 35, and over the course of a few years he was hospitalised roughly 12 times and had his heart restarted just as many. This was due a number of things like several medications adjustments, dose creases or running simply running out of medications.
During that time, Nicholas noticed a friend using his asthma inhaler, who had a physical stigma, and a light bulb went off… not to become a heart surgeon at 35... but to develop personalised smart inhalers that could diminish disease stigma's and make respiratory disease management effortless for patients and clinicians!
